Michael Sidgmore

Partner and Co-Founder, Broadhaven Ventures

Michael Sidgmore has spent the last decade as an investor and operator in the financial technology sector. He is a Partner and Co-Founder of Broadhaven Ventures, a global early-stage investor that makes principal capital investments in financial technology companies and venture capital funds, and also incubates asset management businesses, including Cantilever Group, a GP stakes fund built in partnership with BTG Pactual. Michael is also the founder of private markets focused podcast and content platform Alt Goes Mainstream, which includes over 130 podcasts with industry leaders and a weekly newsletter, and the AGM Studio, a collaboration between Alt Goes Mainstream and Broadhaven Ventures to incubate, invest in and scale companies and funds in private markets. Broadhaven Ventures is affiliated with Broadhaven Capital Partners, a leading financial services investment bank, that has completed over $90B in announced M&A transactions. Michael has served on the boards of Nowports, Liveoak (acq. DocuSign), Covalto, Harvest (acq. Envestnet) and as an advisor to Republic, Kovi, and Allocate. Prior to co-founding Broadhaven Ventures, Michael was a pre-product employee, SVP, and seed investor, where he built the sales team at iCapital, the leading technology platform in alternative assets with over $200 billion in AUM. Prior to iCapital, he was employee #16 and first sales hire at Mosaic, a residential solar financing platform backed by Warburg Pincus that has completed over $14B in home solar loan originations. Michael started his career at Goldman Sachs in their Principal Strategic Investments Group. He is also a Venture Partner at Goodwater Capital, a $3B consumer tech VC. Michael is an investor in Angel City FC, the women's soccer team in LA. He holds a BSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
