John H. Simpson has over 30 years of experience as a leading investment banker and financial services executive. Prior to joining Broadhaven, he was Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Canyon Partners, a global alternative investment firm with over $20 billion in assets under management. Prior to Canyon, he was Vice Chairman of Wasserstein Perella & Co., where he was a senior mergers and acquisitions professional and ran several of the firm’s largest business units. Prior to joining Wasserstein Perella, Mr. Simpson practiced law with Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York. Prior to that, he served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable William A. Norris of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Simpson is a member of the Board of Directors of Lurie Children’s Hospital, a member of the Chicago Police Board, the civilian supervisory body for the Chicago Police Department, a Commissioner of the Illinois Attorney Registration and Discipline Commission, and a member of the Board of Regents of Loyola University. He was also a member of the 2012 Electoral College. Mr. Simpson is a graduate of Williams College (A.B., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Economics and Political Science) and Harvard Law School (J.D., magna cum laude; Editor, Harvard Law Review).
